親友がいない――そう悩む人物に大前研一氏が優しく回答。まずは質問を見てみよう。「この4月に2年生になる大学生です。学部やサークルに友人と呼 べる人たちはいるのですが、親友と呼べるほどの人は今のところいません。恋人も募集中ですが、それよりも信頼できて、いろいろなことを語り合える親友と呼 べる関係に憧れます。友情について大前さんはどのように考えていますか？」。以下、大前氏による回答だ。

　親友が欲しいということだけど、別にいなけりゃいないでいいじゃない。「ペニスが短くて悩んでます」というのと同じぐらいありがちで、どうでもいい質問だよ。俺なんか、友人はみんな親友と思っちゃうけどね。

　友人はいるけど親友がいないというのは、自分の側でグレード分けしてるわけだ。そういう発想そのものに問題があるんじゃないのかね。
